The Depths I Walk With
Let me loose tonight,
To the darkness around
Subsiding all the work
that life demands,
I want to forget them all,
for once.
Let me embrace my tiredness
let me feel without hope,
And let me loose
to my unproductiveness.
To this universe,
I am a mere spec of dust,
Tonight, I don't wish for any more identities, just be.
Let me just settle to a place,
Untapped by any spirit or human race.
To struggle through and survive
this nocturnal time,
Tonight, let me keep,
all of my insecurities on the line.
I am aware
of the ethics of this society and
the philosophies engraved in scriptures,
But tonight, let me step away from the wisdom
imbued in all of these preachers.
Let me be free,
and allow my spirit to explore,
The nurturing realms tonight.
Let me hide away from
every judgmental sight,
Even from the judgments
I place on my might.
Broken, seeking trust anew,
My path ahead seems unclear and rough.
For even though my vision is clouded
And I can't see His presence around,
I still see a tiny reflection of my inner strength
In the waters of this daunting ground.
A ray of hope surrounds my spirit,
Like a firefly, roaming around. So,
Let me embrace this quiet tonight,
And deep dive into my psyche's existing plight.
As I am hopeful to wake up renewed and refreshed for the life that starts at dawn,
Hoping to hold myself free and strong.
